The Sweetest Thing ★★★★☆

Author: Jill Shalvis
Genre: Contemporary Romance
348 pages

Tara has a thousand good reasons not to return to the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington. Yet with her life doing a major crash-and-burn, anywhere away from her unfulfilled dreams and sexy ex-husband will do. As Tara helps her two sisters get their newly renovated inn up and running, she finally has a chance to get things under control and come up with a new plan for her life.

But a certain tanned, green-eyed sailor has his own ideas, such as keeping Tara hot, bothered . . . and in his bed. And when her ex wants Tara back, three is a crowd she can't control-especially when her deepest secret reappears out of the blue. Now Tara must confront her past and discover what she really wants. If she's lucky, she might just find that everything her heart desires is right here in Lucky Harbor.

If you read the first book in the Lucky Harbor series Simply Irresistible than you probably think that Tara is really uptight and not much fun.  You get to see another side of Tara in this book and I'm glad.  I was looking forward to this book because of Ford.  I'm not sure if I would say I liked it more than the first book.  I really liked the first book a lot.  There is a lot more craziness with all of the family getting involved in everything.  Including a few new family members.  I wasn't thrilled with the ex husband showing up.

The tweets and Facebook posts had me laughing so hard.  I have to admit this book was funnier than the first book.  I loved the Facebook polls against Ford and Logan.  There was just so much to this book.  It made me laugh but it also made me cry.  The cover doesn't do it justice.  It makes it look like a cheesy romance novel.

Tara and Ford have a real struggle facing their past and getting themselves together.  They can't seem to admit their attraction to each other and then they have Logan there all the time butting in.  I am having a hard time writing this review without giving away any of the secrets and ya'll know how I hate to do spoilers.  I'll just end with my favorite part: Ford and Logan picking apples in the trees when one falls out and the other gets stung and is allergic.  The whole book has seriously silly parts like that to sprinkle in with the very serious parts too.

Oh and the book is worth it for Tara's quotes!
